This is the website of the RAF Waddington Amateur Radio Club, based at the Pyewipe Inn, Lincoln, England.
We are a group of individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds and experience, all with a shared passion
for everything radio! Not sure what amateur radio is?
Find out all about it at the
Radio Society of Great Britain.
We hope you enjoy your visit to our site and look forward to meeting you on a club night or on the air.
The club will be back at the
International Bomber Command Centre
on 19th May for their
Inspire Ride2024 at the IBCC
event, which this year commemorates 80 years since The Great Escape. We expect to be operational
on HF bands, according to conditions, and 2m, using the Special Event Callsign GB5ESC,
between the hours of 10.00 and 16:00 (BST) approximately. As always, we welcome contacts from
interested radio amateurs.
The club will hold a committee meeting in the shack at the Pyewipe Inn on 3rd May - please note that this is a change from the originally published date. Members are invited to come to the meeting to listen to what your committee have been up to since the AGM in January!
7.30 pm onwards, for a prompt start at 8pm.
On 13th April, members of the club were back at the International Bomber Command Centre in Lincoln to support
the learning team there with
The Great Escape Free Family Activity Day
RAF Waddington Amateur Radio Club ran a Special Event Station for Airfields on the Air over the
weekend of 5-7 April at former RAF Binbrook,
using the callsign GB5BK.
Members of RAF Waddington ARC took advantage of improved weather conditions to carry out some work at the shack at the Pyewipe Inn
recently. The club doublet had previously been taken down, so that it would not be damaged during other necessary works at the site; following
these the antenna was refurbished and replaced by Bob, G3VCA and Chris 2E0BMA.
Steve’s talk, “The Speccy Geek” - sub-titled “The making of a home computer and a software engineer” -
was a fascinating sequel to Andy’s excellent talk on all things Sinclair last month.
