We were back at the Newark Air Museum for the weekend of 16-17 September,
for the 60th anniversary of the museum’s Avro Vulcan XM594 entering RAF service in September 1963 at RAF Scampton.
Using the callsign GB0NAM, we made many contacts on HF (CW and SSB), and on 2m. Our thanks to those stations who took the time to contact us on what
was a very enjoyable weekend in fine weather. The Maidenhead/QRA locator for the museum is IO93OC and the WAB square is SK85.

A good time was had by all at the weekend’s Special Event Station at
Newark Air Museum’s Cockpit-Fest .
We operated mostly on HF (40m, 20m and 17m) as 2m was very quiet, using the SES callsign GB0NAM,
during a rather warm weekend! We would like to thank the stations we had contacts with, including
a number of stations activating museum sites for Museums on the Air.

We returned to the Newark Air Museum during the
weekend of 15th-16th April, 2023, for the museum’s Golden Jubilee event, celebrating the
50th Anniversary of the museum opening to the public, operating on HF bands with some operation on 2m.

We were back at the Newark Air Museum during the weekend of 25-26th June, 2022, for the museums’ Cockpit Fest.
Operating using the Special Event callsign GB0NAM, we were able to make a number of interesting contacts, including a contact with the Croatian amateur radio station, callsign 9A22YOTA, which was being operated remotely from the Friedrichshafen Hamfest as part of the 2022 Youngsters on the Air(YOTA) summer camp (hosted this year by the Croatian Amateur Radio Association in the city of Karlovac, near Zagreb).

RAF Waddington Amateur Radio Club ran a Special Event Station, using the callsign GB4OBB, at Newark Air Museum during the museum’s Falklands 40th and Cold War Call-up event, taking place on Saturday, 30th April and Sunday, 1st May. This two-day event coincided with the commemoration of the 40th anniversary of the successful Black Buck 1 Vulcan bombing raid on the runway at Port Stanley Airport in the Falkland Islands - you can read more about the operation at Vulcan to the Sky Trust.
