Until March 1999, RAF Waddington ARC met on-base at RAF Waddington, about five miles south of Lincoln Cathedral. As the air base expanded and space became tight, the club moved off base, and today we meet at the Pyewipe Inn, just two miles west of Lincoln Cathedral.

We enjoy our own 20 m² shack on the Pyewipe grounds, with plenty of room for antenna experiments, setting up rigs, and trying out new modes. Whether you’re a long-time amateur radio enthusiast or just curious to explore wireless communication, you’ll find a welcoming space here.

We’re proud to be a community where everyone is welcome — whether you’re ex-service, currently serving, or have no connection to the military at all. What matters most is your interest in radio, your curiosity, and your willingness to share and learn. We’re a friendly, supportive group, happy to help newcomers get started and excited to share knowledge, stories, and technical tips.

What we offer

  • A well-equipped club room and radio gear, ready for use across all modes

  • Hands-on support and mentoring — whether you’re just starting out or looking to expand your skills

  • An active and social atmosphere: people who enjoy chatting on the air, tinkering with antennas, building or repairing gear, and sharing their experience

When we meet

  • Club meetings: Thursdays at 19:30

  • On-air net: Mondays at 19:30 — tune in via GB3LM or 145.325 MHz
